Dear Applicants,

We are pleased to introduce you to the University of Arizona Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program. The residency training program, established in 1971, is a fully accredited four year program that treats a diverse patient population. The majority of training occurs at University Medical Center at the Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, Arizona. However, training opportunities occur at other locations throughout Tucson such as UPH Hospital at Kino and Tucson Medical Center.

The department is composed of five active divisions including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynecologic Oncology, Pelvic Reconstruction / Urogynecology, and Maternal Fetal Medicine. There is an active and fully accredited Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Our broad curriculum encourages professional development in clinical, surgical and research skills.

PGY-I
• Obstetrics (7 months)
• Gynecologic Oncology (3 months)
• Emergency Medicine (1 month)
• Ambulatory Women’s Healthcare, including Ultrasonography (1 month)

PGY-II
• Obstetrics (6 months)
• Gynecologic Oncology (3 months)
• Gynecology (3 months)

PGY-III
• Gynecology (6 months)
• Elective (1.5 months)
• Clinic chief (1.5 months)
• Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (3 months)

PGY-IV
• Obstetrics (3 months)
• Gynecologic Oncology (3 months)
• Gynecology (3 months)
• Urogynecology (1.5 months)
• Clinic chief (1.5 months)

Interested applicants should apply through ERAS with their Dean’s Letter, 3 letters of recommendation, school transcripts, USMLE transcripts and personal statement. Spanish language skills are helpful, but not required. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by November 15. Selected applicants will be interviewed from November through January. We participate in the NRMP and have four residency spots each year.
